This was taken in the Holocaust Memorial of Berlin (and by the way, I was very shocked to learn that this monument is dedicated only to the jewish victims of the nazis and not to the countless others). It is a very powerful place that interacts with the visitor and manages to create an atmosphere of fear, darkness and uncertainty. I would recommend seeing it at night, if possible. It's located halfway between Brandenburg Tor and Potsdamer Platz, a few meters away from the Führer Bunker, where Hitler commited suicide.
