I just came back today from an amazing (but very cold) week of ice climbing in Norway, in the Rjukan valley.
This photo was taken from the top of the first pitch of Nye Vemorkfoss (WI5), right below the plant where Nazi Germany was producing heavy water and which was famously sabotaged in 1943 (
The Heroes of Telemark, anyone?). Little did I know when I took the shot that the next pitch would be steep, sustained, wet and absolutely horrible... My arms were still hurting the next day!
